In my head I had Lille as the industrial city of the North of France, so when I got to travel there last year I was pleasantly surprised to discover its charms. That includes cobbles.
True they may not be kind to those wearing high heels, but I just love them and the character it can give to streets. Unsurprisingly all these shots were taken in the old quarter of Lille.




It was in such contrast to the city that I had expected to stumble upon and a sheer delight.

Nice post Mick! We visited Lille last year as our train to Luxembourg was canceled but Lille didn’t dissapoint us! We are yet to write a blog about it 😜
