One from the back garden today. The simple but beautiful Iris shows off its range of colours. If I was a bee I think i’d be heading straight for this beauty.

Just noticed this post; such a beautiful flower and well captured with your photo. The iris has been the background picture for my blog since I started it (May 2013). It was by accident but every time I try a different picture it just does not seem to look as nice.

Thanks for your comment Anarette. I’ve simply stuck with the same banner from the start – reflections on Loch Tay, Scotland. You have to go into themes to change it….MM π

I did not have any problems changing it, just that it did not seem to look as nice :).

Beautiful Iris! Memories of my childhood–my grandmother used to grow them when I was very young. I’ve been perusing your blog a little after seeing this picture–Love your photos and feel like I am getting a nice tour of Cork!

Am using a canon 550d and used a canon 100mm USM L macro lens (great at portraits too) for this shot, as I would do for most close ups. MM
