A poppy stands against a green field in the Somme, France

Two Months on

It’s now two months on from my post “100 Years on” which was published to commemorate the start of one of the bloodiest battles in history – the Battle of the Somme.

1oo years ago this battle continued to rage, taking many more lives with each day. So in an age when many worry about whether they have the right look, the latest phone model etc. I make no apology for providing a bit of perspective.

Let us not forget.

For those interested, the above cemetery can be found at Ovillers La Boiselle not far from the Lochnagar Crater. The area has many cemeteries, a reflection on the numbers that fell in the Battle of the Somme.
