Snow in Cork

Well I was only saying earlier this week that I just love snow but all we seem to get in these temperate parts is the damper precipitation variety, rain. Lo and behold we had snow yesterday morning. Yes I mean morning, as by lunchtime most of it had disappeared to make way for the rain and blustery gales.

One thing is for sure, the weather will keep you on your toes in these parts.

Snow hits Cork

Now I know for all those in North America / Sweden / Scotland and many other places the above looks kind of pathetic, a mere dusting, but here this kind of scene is greeted with consternation and fears of being marooned.

      1. πŸ™‚ Here in north Texas it’s very mild at the moment, but still far from summer! I *am* enjoying the last day of the longest holiday Richard and I have had in about as long as I can remember, though, so it *seems* like summer all the same. Back, full-speed-ahead, to work tomorrow! πŸ˜‰

  1. Haha! That is definitely a dusting, but a pretty one. Now that I’m in a milder climate I don’t get snow anymore. If I’m really missing it, I can go to the mountains. Maybe next winter I’ll need some, but after living in Wisconsin for 5 years, I’m good for now. πŸ™‚

  2. Well! Here in south of Sweden, on the west coast, it snowed big heavy snowflakes yesterday. For about half an hour. After another half hour it was all gone. But on the other hand, it isn’t slippery on the roads. That’s good.

      1. As usual… can be glad it was piles of snow that melted halfway and then from to slippery ice. When Pia came at 10 pm, she said it was blowing ice winds. Now it’s raining. Hopefully not freezing. Typical topic – the weather …
