Far from the brightness of my post last week, which some helpfully termed “Purple Rain”, I have gone for a much more realistic, damp, January feel to the weather for my entry in this week’s One Four Challenge.
The One Four Challenge is overseen by Robyn G and if youย have yet to hear about it, go and check it out – you will be thanking me for it.
To get to this image I had to reset my Purple Rain version to get back to the original and then set out on a new crop and different tint treatment, together with a small vignette. I have to say I quite like this very real image and can almost feel the dampness of the drops as I type. Looking at the drops I swear I can also see the outline of the house opposite, albeit inverted.
Going to have to pull my finger out for weeks 3 and 4 and learn some new techniques.
Have a good week one and all.

I really like both – this lovely natural version… and Purple Rain ๐
Thanks for your wonderful endorsement for our fun challenge John!!
Apologies for my late reply – I had been having probs leaving comments.
Looking forward to this week also ๐๐

Much more realistic! In fact, that will mostly be the weather overnight here. Chances are all the trains will be “broken” in the morning for rush hour!

Very different to last week John, I don’t know which I prefer. I do like the drops themselves and the very dark outline like a gasket seal on the largest ones. Looking forward to what you come up with next week ๐

With the larger drops it is as if I have gone and outlined them with a felt-tip pen. Fascinating, or perhaps the nerd in me getting out again….MM ๐

I love this shot better than the purple version ! It’s like we are trapped in a glass cage, it’s more dramatic with this colour ! ๐

I certainly feel it is more atmospheric and real. Thanks for contributing to the debate Darwin, MM ๐

I think I missed last week’s entry, but love this second edit – with the clarity and shine of those drops.

Love this. I can hear the streak of my finger on the glass. It is mighty realistic and that house outline is haunting ๐ Really great edit. And again I must add, I have never seen raindrops like this on a window/glass so clear in a photograph, superb.

To be honest Carrie it was a bit slap dash as I didn’t even use a tripod and the light was fading. So glad you can appreciate my efforts. ๐

Love this crop and color, and the visibility of the house is very cool. A pleasantly moody image for these winter days.

Thanks Debbie – it happens to be snowing right now, but seems just a tad wet to really settle. โ๏ธ

For the life of me I cant remember last weeks picture and will have to check it out. I do like the slightly metallic feel I get from this picture and could really see it working as a desktop background.

Cheers Ben, the metallic feel works according to me as well. The challenge is next week. MM ๐ฆ
