This morning I received a marketing email for cut price flights with the headline “Escape the Irish Summer”.
This must have been written by someone not living on these shores and certainly not by anyone living in Cork.
Typically the problem with Ireland is the unpredictable weather and where you if you blink you might miss the summer. Not this year, or last.
With some top notch sandy beaches, hidden coves, rugged coastline and relatively quiet roads it’s nice to be able to stay at home, take in the sun and simply chill out. Next year it might all change again, so let’s enjoy it while we can.
To underline my point, here are some images of lovely Donegal, taken this Easter on Cruit Island (though the locals seem to pronounce it more like ‘Crutch’).
Can’t wait for my exam to be over on Tuesday so that I can really start having a good summer and bring some fresh images. π
There’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes! Hope the exam went well, MM.

When I visited your country, it was really sunny during the first 7 days. A perfect weather, though it started to rain the last four days… π

Normally I would bite your hand off if offered that for here, but not this summer. If it was this summer you would have been incredibly unlucky π

Phrases like that John are generated by people who have never explored their own nation. Agreed the last 2 summers have been superb in fact I have said recently to family that this is probably the best summer since 76 – the 4 images you have blogged here are enough to tempt me to come and visit they all look fantastic. Especially sandy stretch and a beach to ones self
