Following on from Sunflowers I, the next in the series sees sunflowers that are becoming a little more ragged as the petals become curled and the flower head no longer a complete circle. Stamen can be seen in the heart of the flower, all brushed with a dusty yellow coating of pollen. While their light continues to shine on in the garden, the sun is starting to set.
Lovely images, Mick. Time for the birds to stop in for a snack? Yesterday I saw a cardinal feeding on one of the now-faded sunflowers in my tomato garden. A nice ending for a beautiful flower……..
