Blossom of the Bramley

The start of the Bramley cooking apple

Well today I am off to the plot and by now I hope that the bees have completed their duty and that the start of the bramley fruit can now be identified (this picture was taken on 1st June). To me it is amazing to think that from such a delicate flower the mighty bramley apple will grow.

This in turn means some lovely apple pies, livened up with a touch of cinnamon, sultanas or perhaps a bit of citrus zest. Let’s keep the fingers crossed.
