Cork docks, silent at still in the mid of night

Silence III – WPC

This is my third and final entry for this week’s photo challenge of “Silence“.

Cork docks at night, the bright lights contrast strongly with the dark buildings and shadows, all is still and nothing moves.

To my mind what accentuates the silence further is the noise and movement that takes place during the day as cranes turn into action, trucks drive in and out and the place is alive with the sound of machinery.
