Kiloran beach on Colonsay is described in some guidebooks as the best beach in the Hebrides. In my own view there is a lot of competition for such a title and one too difficult to judge.

Spectacular it may be, but in the end I had to conclude that it wasn’t even the best beach on Colonsay, let alone in the Hebrides. Nothing to do with this beach being poor, but more to do with the unbelievable pleasure in finding Balnahard beach.
Needless to say, Balnahard beach will feature in its own post.

Lovely expanse and I really like the shot looking down on the beach with the bench seat there. Makes you want to sit a while. Cant wait for the best beach post 🙂

Balnahard is a bit of a trek so one cannot just drive up to it. Worth the journey……
