For my second entry in the weekly challenge of orange, I bring some images taken yesterday in Cork City and combine these with some old favourites.
Love these challenges and you can see my first entry here.

I quite like the sunset picture, espcially with the bird flying, it’s very iconic

Thank you. I had to take a few to get the bird in position.π

Thank you Laura. Personally I like the Tea Shack, the first image – taken on a day with beautiful skies. Wished they had stayed for a bit longer. Now it is just π¦π¦π¦

Love the Kerry Montbretia Swathe and the Sunshine and Tears, John, and get a big kick out of the traffic light. So much fun with orange!

The Montbretia post itself is from a good while back. Glad to have dusted it down for you. MM π

Ahhh I do recognise some of these! Especially the lovely Sunshine and Tears. That hut is a definite wake-up sight! A lovely bunch, indeed.

It’s used by the builders for their tea break. I do kind of like it. Any warmer?? βοΈ

I love it! Yesterday was a welcome respite; the temps are back down today to -7 (feels like -15)
It should warm up for the week-end but not the lovely +12 we had yesterday!
Oh well, go with the flow!

Great set John, the first one hits you in the face with those 2 intense colours and the orange what I see. But my fav. is the traffic lights – something about the composition appeals to me

Thank you Lee, I was of the mind that the first image merited a post all of its own – to me it is very striking and yet such a humble thing. I tried doing the traffic lights in B/W but leaving in the orange colour but that did not work. The one criticism on the light shot is I think there is too much space on the this. Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate. MM π

Clarify – too much space on the this. I’m particularly dense tonight as I had a long 14 hour drive today π but I’d like to see what you were thinking. I agree with the B&W not working as I like the houses behind giving the lights a sense of place and echoing the colour even if it is more yellow than orange.

I am thinking a crop on the lhs would make the image too thin and tall, but a shift of the camera to the right slightly might have worked better. I just sense that the space between the large traffic light and the left hand side of the image is a little too much and not offering anything interesting. Me being picky?? That is some drive – over here we would be in the ocean if we stayed driving for that long, or anything near. π

Thanks for the clarification, I wondered if it would be something about the lhs π I think that is what appeals to me about the whole shot – that there is that space and the larger traffic light isn’t obeying the ‘rule of thirds’
