Harbour View Beach

This is the name given to the beach just below Kilbrittain in West Cork, Ireland. It is backed by dunes and in the winter migratory birds are often seen in the area near the old-humpbacked bridge just a little way up the estuary.

It is a favourite place to go to walk the dog on the open stretches of sand. In addition to other dogs there are often horses galloping along the shore while kite surfers frequently brighten up the skies and the waves. A bit of an action beach I guess.

So having based this month’s One Four Challenge image from a picture taken here, I thought I should include a couple more images taken that same day on Harbour View Beach.

I loved the weathered nature of these old pieces of timber.

  1. They make me long for a bike-ride to the sea shore.
Can sense the salty air, hear the sea gulls shouting and the soft singing from the waves breaking on the shore.
