Bowing Out

Donegal has many a fine sandy beach and the stretches around Carrickfinn Airport can certainly hold their own. At the back of this one small bay, where boats bobbed up and down, there was a collection of boats, many beyond repair. I love this worn look that arises with time and the associated tales that belong with each craft.

Here I give a boat whose bow looks as if it may have had a collision with a rock and come off decidedly second best. Of course, the real story may be somewhat different, but it’s nice to imagine.

To the left on the one image is the boat that featured in the photo challenge ‘Twist’.
