Weekly Photo Challenge: On Top

Just squeezing in before the deadline is this week’s entry to meet the ‘On Top” weekly photo challenge. For this task I have chosen a couple of images from India where the good nature of the people and infectious smiles made me feel ‘on top’ of the world, shots from Malaysian Borneo from the top of Mount Kinabalu and some shots closer to home.

The Cork shots are of Shandon tower where the Salmon stands atop the weather-vane, while Blarney Castle features as the famed Blarney Stone is on top of the tower. That is right, to kiss the Blarney Stone one has to climb the old stone steps to the very height of the tower. I slipped in a photo of The Hound as he is invariably in good humour, on top form and also makes me feel on top of the world.

Have a great weekend and hopefully you like this somewhat random collection of photos to meet the challenge. Obviously the Indian photos taken in Kerala were not photos that I took myself (as I feature in them).

  1. The photo ‘Kissing Queue’ is a doozy. One doesn’t often get a shot that so perfectly shows the construction of a castle. In fact, I can’t recall having ever seen one such—and the line of people waiting patiently adds an essential modern humanity. A great shot~!

    1. Thank you so much Argus, nice to hear you enjoy it – though not being familiar with the word “doozy” in this context I am slightly baffled. To me a doozy is excrement!

Have a great week, MM 🍀

      1. Eek!

In this part of the world (NZ) it’s something outstanding and special. Like “One doozy of a hangover” … been there, done that …

  2. Yes, I like your “random collection of photos”, very nice (especially “Who has my sunglasses”).

I wish you a great weekend too. 🙂
