From Bud to Bust

The Quarry continues to draw me in. Nature is reclaiming the land and adding some fine touches of beauty, if one can see past the idly tossed litter and detritus of the human visitors. The photographs in the gallery below were all taken on the same day which I find incredible. Not that I take a good number of pictures, but that all stages of the Rugose Rose (Rosa Rugosa) could be found on the same September day.  Enjoy nature’s beauty.

I have to thank Jo Goodyear of the Irish Wildlife Trust for pointing me in the direction of the correct name of this plant which she informatively tells me is from Japan. Thank you Jo and thank you Japan.
