This week’s photo challenge is “beloved“, the idea being to show something that is dearly loved.

A rather battered old kettle sitting atop a traditional Irish range in a country cottage is my depiction for this theme. At first it may seem a little incongruous, but then anyone who has ever watched that great comedy ‘Father Ted’ will know how much the Irish love a good cup of tea.

This faithful old kettle will have made many a cuppa, for family, neighbours, the visiting priest and many more besides. No doubt it can also testify to a few arguments and assisted in their resolution.
