The one thing we love to put up in the house each Christmas is the tree. Boxes are brought down from the loft and the treasures carefully unwrapped, reminders of holidays past.
From this year we are lucky enough to be putting up a cheesey momento from Edinburgh (Scotland), a hand painted bauble from Wroclaw (Poland) and an old antique style bauble from Arundel (England). This last one was a complete stumble, being discovered in an antique shop. It is unbelievably light being made of paper mache and while not in any way an antique, we just had to have it – for the princely sum of 50p.
May be it is just us, but it is lovely to have the memory jogged of the many places we have been fortunate enough to visit.
