The wee kirk at Scalasaig may not boast a striking tower or steeple, but in its own way it is very charming. I loved the way that two weather bent trees seem to add to its protection.
Needless to say, sheep had the run of the place.


Definitely something warm and charming about this wee kirk.
There is some special quality about these buildings that is essentially Scottish. The way they settle on the earth like birds without seeming to touch the landscape. they always have the air of being blown there by the wind, and just resting a while before moving on…
