Well a byre is what it now looks like to me, though I have been assured that this was once a home. In fact it was the home of his forefathers.
History was probably my worst subject at school, could never remember the dates and loathed having to regurgitate information in long essays. These days I find such old buildings fascinating for the history that they could impart, if only they could speak.
This is an example of things a history teacher should use for a field trip to spur a students interest

So, so many stories. Just walked over to an island and you should see some the gravestones. So, so old ๐

What I like best about it is someone appears to have maintained it in usable condition, assuring it will continue to serve a purpose.

I think old buildings do speak, we just need to learn how to listen. ๐
