Traditional Irish homes have a strong catholic presence and despite being abandoned around 30 years ago, this old farmhouse has managed to keep this tradition going.
Firstly we had the image of the crucifixion, still recognisable despite lying on the floor and then in another of the downstairs rooms we have Madonna and child.
Maybe the house has not been fully abandoned after all.

Our grandparents had such wonderful belief and faith in their religion, sadly not seen very often nowadays.

To be honest with you Joan I am not a big fan of organised religion. I’ve seen too much division, judgement and hypocrisy. Used in the right way it can of course be fantastic. In my images I am simply recording “life”. Have a great week Joan, MM 🍀
