In my first posting for the Orange Challenge I used a bunch of oranges, a dark brown bit of card, a desk lamp and a very flexible arm. You can see my first contribution here.
For a new set I removed the dark card and replaced it with an orange sheet. That was it, except the arm got a bit bendier. I tried the group shots, but with this new background it was the lone model that worked best for me.

So here is our supermodel going through the day as the sun rotated around her. Or is it a he? I can never tell with oranges.
And after all the modelling work is done, there is nothing quite like being back amongst friends.

That is it for the Orange Challenge, I hope you enjoyed the images. A new challenge awaits for next week.
Have a great weekend and keep your comments coming. 🍀
John, I love the orange upon orange! I can’t access the slideshow from my phone but I’ll be sure to check it out once back in my computer. Fantastic color and great composition!

Very interesting to see what the different backgrounds do to the orange and I love the story line – very creative John. Personally I prefer the brown background and the group shots but in this series the corner one does it for me, love all that negative space 🙂 Have a great weekend.

For the weekend!!!!!! Us Aussies can’t get used to people in the British Isles/Europe area saying things like ‘I’m going to Paris for lunch’ or ‘ducking over to Spain for the weekend’ it’s all so close over there. Here I can drive for 5 days and still be in the same country or fly for 6 hours and still be landing in Australia. It turns my brain 🙂

I feel your pain, Lee! I’m from Canada so, like you, driving for five hours, I’ll still find myself in the same province, never mind country!

It does have its advantages though, one language and same culture. Then the drawbacks of being isolated from the variety and stimulation of the ‘other’ worlds out there 🙂

True… but how cool to spend a week-end in Italy, eh?

A totally different world I have to agree. The price we pay is having very little space, but I do love the different cultures. MM 🍀

Hadn’t thought of the space angle at all, and yes that makes a big difference. Can’t have everything it seems.

I like the positive energy these photos bring to me! Maybe it depends on the day or time of the day that we would prefer one background than the other?

I think what is most telling is the different mood created, just by changing the background colour. Thanks for your input Helen and have a great weekend, MM 🍀

These are great! As mentioned, orange is my favourite colour (has been since I’m 12…) and I love the idea of the various times of day.
I thought for sure you were going to end with: After all the modelling work is done, the orange was disrobed and eaten! 😉

The monochrome approach works really well and I especially like the composition with the Orange just being in the corner.

I personally tend to go for the dark, but it is interesting to see how the mood can be changed by simply changing the background. Enjoy your weekend, MM🍀
