In winter the days are somewhat shorter and colder, as we approach Christmas.
There are benefits to this, as we don’t have to get up at a ridiculous hour of the morning to witness a sun rise. Yesterday morning was a case in point, with sunrise being after 7:30am.
Looking out the windows of the house, the sun showered us all with the most amazing new light, throwing out a promise of the day to come. It was magnificent, just a pity I didn’t have something a little grander for such a glorious backdrop. Something tells me I am going to have to do some research on this, armed with a compass.
In the end the image was really just that of a point and shoot, but hopefully I have captured some of the magnificence that lay before me.

Great sunrise π

It’s always a work in progress. Ideally somewhere you can just wake up take the shot and go back to sleep without moving to far π

Stunning colours more than make up for the lack of foreground. Shame some of the colour didn’t last into the day.
