Hi John! I hope you will read my first blog post. I saw this photo, Wash Day, and it grabbed my artist heart. The blog is about a couple of things, but at the core of it is a reminder to artists to ask permission before they use a photographer’s work. I’ve included a link to your blog on my post. Hi! I just stumbled on this photo tonight as I was considering my first blog post. I’m an artist. More specifically, I am a portrait artist. I focus on faces and figures. I accept commissions from folks all over the world, but once in a while… ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE, I see an image that BEGS me to paint it. It’s a rare thing for me to find time to paint something “just because”… I kind of have to pay the bills with my commissioned portraits. But I love this photo. Really love it. Would you give me permission to paint it? I never paint a professional photo without permission. I’ve never had a photographer tell me no… but it would just be wrong to do it without your “ok.” I look forward to your reply, with fingers crossed.
