In the midst of putting together a small photobook of a trip to Portugal I came across an image that I really liked. It was simple and contained one of my favourite subjects – a door.
So here it is, a door standing below the vaulted ceilings of the cloisters in Jeronimo Monastery, Portugal.
Just imagine being asked to walk through that door, not knowing what was on the other side of it.

Wow, how intricate is that?!? Looks like it’s all carved marble. I love arches and vaulting but the column details here just blew my mind!

I’ve actually never been to Portugal!! My aunt and uncle have recently retired over there so I may have to visit them at some point 😉

This is beautiful, it seems so pristine and quiet. My favorite parts are the color and the textures and the light…oh and the angles lol ok I admit, all of it. .
