Crinan

Crinan lies at the westerly end of the Crinan Canal, allowing the visitor to take in the ridiculously stunning views of the jagged Scottish coastline and the islands of Jura and Scarba.

This is where the boats may enter the Sound of Jura, having used the canal to cut across the “leg” of Scotland, Mull of Kintyre.

What a place to just take it all in.

If you enjoyed this post, you might just like to see more of the Crinan Canal in Crinan Canal and Along the Canal. Must also credit the wife for taking the third image with yours truly in it on lock 14.

The journey will be continued soon.

  1. What fantastic weather you had this day MM . Super sharp photos of it all . Looks like a suitable hostelry for refreshments too 😉

    1. Went to Oronsay Priory just off Colonsay, allegedly where St Columbus stayed before moving on to Iona. Legend has it that he could not stay there as he could still see Ireland (Donegal). Will be up in Donegal next month….
