Crinan lies at the westerly end of the Crinan Canal, allowing the visitor to take in the ridiculously stunning views of the jagged Scottish coastline and the islands of Jura and Scarba.
This is where the boats may enter the Sound of Jura, having used the canal to cut across the “leg” of Scotland, Mull of Kintyre.
What a place to just take it all in.

Went to Oronsay Priory just off Colonsay, allegedly where St Columbus stayed before moving on to Iona. Legend has it that he could not stay there as he could still see Ireland (Donegal). Will be up in Donegal next month….
