Cobh Nets

In heading down to Cobh I wandered around the older port area, as well as taking in the towering arrivals in the form of cruise ships (more of that later in the week).

What took my eye here was the net folded over a harbour railing.

Hopefully this floats your boat this weekend.

    1. Thank you so, so much. I definitely felt the shot worked best vertically, possibly impacted by the hanging nature of the nets to give emphasis to this. I also liked the way the bottom floats trailed off into the corners. I felt the whole of the frame was usefully being used without getting an overcrowded feel. It just seemed right. Thank you so much, your comments are appreciated. I came on here to release a bit of creativity and get feedback. You are a vital cog in all of that. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

      1. Nets can be overcrowded things but you found a good breathing space in the right bottom corner ..as if here is some clarity among all this entanglement ! The eyes flow beautifully all over the photo ! It’s one of my favourite !

  1. Fishing nets always hold intrigue – no matter what color or what condition they are in. Great texture. Maybe, subliminally, we perceive fishing nets as giant spider webs that can actually be folded up. That would make a fisherman a giant spider casting about for fishy insects? Oh well, I thought I’d give it a try ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Wonderful. Beachy boaty praphernalia always good’ I’ve got a lobster pot and an anchor in my front garden, not to mention shell, pebbles and driftwood, When I’m even older than I am mow I can go beachcombing at home because by then I’ll have forgotten I put the stuff there in the first place.

  3. I like the complexity…makes one think. There is so much to see; the different ropes all intertwined, the floats, the complimentary colors, etc. I wouldn’t want to untangle it, but you captured it perfectly.
