Colours of Stykkisholmur

The posts have been a bit infrequent this week as a result of so much activity. Sometimes, some things just have to give!

Yesterday I was up in Fermoy doing a photographic job, so I took the opportunity to travel the River Blackwater before dropping back down to Cork. New recent material will be shown at the weekend.

For now it is back to Iceland and, more specifically, Stykkisholmur on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It was from here we caught the ferry across the large bay of Breidafjordur, stopping off at Flatey.

The harbour is nicely tucked away from the roaring ocean and all the while that we were there the light was ever changing; bright bursts of blue were soon followed by dark brooding clouds.

So here are some shots of this small ferry port:

Here we had a much appreciated spot of lunch before departing for the eponymous Flatey.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed in the next few days, MM 🍀

    1. Thank you for your kind words Daniel, they are much appreciated. I was fascinated by those fishing for mackerel but on this occasion took no images of the fisherman.Next time. Have a good week Daniel. MM
