A couple of followers said they were enjoying the Icelandic series, so here are some more shots taken at the Latrabjarg cliffs in the Westfjords region of Iceland.
Here I really do indulge myself with a number of shots of the ubiquitous puffins. I find these birds so comical and full of colour and character – it’s hard not to love them.
I am hoping to see these birds off the Kerry coast here in Ireland and look forward to a trip to Skellig Michael. Having just been used to film part of the new Star Wars film, it will probably be crawling with Star Wars fans rather than puffins, but here is hoping otherwise.
I’d take some puffin galore anyday 😉 Beautiful shots.

Your pictures truly are incredible. What sort of lens did you use to capture these images and where was it if you don’t mind my asking? I brought only my standard 18-55mm lens with me and I regret it so much!

Oh, I just re-read and realised that you said where the pictures were taken. Latrabjarg cliffs in the Westfjords. Sorry! I saw puffins in southern Iceland 🙂

I used my 70-200 lens for these shots and for some I added a 2x Extender. We also saw puffins on Flatey and while on Rib Safari in Isfjordur, but here at Latrabjarg one could get pretty close to the puffins. Just read your article and like me you just adore these clowns of the cliffs. 😃

They are the most adorable birds. I hope that I’ll be able to go back to Iceland one day and armed with more developed photography skills. And more lenses!
