Bird Photography for Dummies

Well that is what the guidebook* said about the Latrabjarg cliffs in Iceland.

Like so many others, it was the puffins that we wanted to see and capture. Never did I think it would be this good. And it is true, take a look at the image I managed to capture of this puffin out posing on the end of a grassy knoll (with just a 200mm zoom and a minor bit of cropping).

  4. interestingly cute bird! Sorry I haven’t commented on your posts in a while! Somehow WordPress managed to have me unfollow you! I’ve been wondering why I had not seen anything from you in a while! Glad I finally checked up on you! Haven’t written much myself in a while –busy getting ready to move and though I have many thoughts going through my mind, the right words just don’t seem to want to present themselves. I just have to “be still” and wait for the Lord to guide me with the words to paraphrase Psalm 46:10. Hope all is well with you!

      2. When we were in the Rib it was almost more fun – seeing them trying to get out the way, legs working frantically and then some diving for the depths. Such charcterful birds.

  11. I can’t look at a Puffin without thinking of the Simon Drew drawings – if you don’t know them, try googling Puffin Nuffin (there are a lot of bad imitations out there as well). Fine shot MM

    1. Deanna, I love old places, though can appreciate modern architecture too. I think my true love is of nature and the scenes here on this planet where the stamp of man is not so marked.
