Bog Water

When I think of bog water I think of thick stagnant pools, often coloured by peat, choked by reeds and not in the least bit enticing. Certainly bog-snorkelling is not for me.

However, in going down the bog recently the water was far from stagnant and excess flood water looked for a means of escape. Where barricades had been broken at the waters edge, the water seized upon the opportunity to break through and dance at the prospect of freedom. This was no ordinary bog water.

Even at the edge of the bog where water had invaded the fields, the water was blue from the reflection of the sky. While the waters were still   this only enhanced the reflections to be seen in the flood water and stretched the length of the telegraph pole that stood within its bounds.

I am hoping this year’s frog chorus will be just as loud and booming as last year’s. Should this be the case I promise to upload my first video.

  1. Lovely captures. The first shot of the water is hypnoticing, wow, I have to ground myself now. 🙂
