Weekly Challenge – Window 1

Saturday and Sunday of the weekend were such contrasting days, with Saturday being cold and bright whereas Sunday was wet and miserable. Fortunately the forecast was accurate, so we jumped in the car and headed off to the coast on the Saturday. What a great day.

At the far end of Crosshaven lies Camden Fort and beyond that a walk that takes you round to the pebbled beach at Church Bay. Opposite is Roches Point and its lighthouse, standing over the narrow entrance to Cork Harbour. Looking out over the narrow strait, it seems incredible that ships large and small sail through this on their way to Cobh and Cork. On the shore lies a ruin, a single wall remaining, door and windows punctuate the concrete screen.

As soon as I saw it I knew that my weekly photo challenge (window) was about to be answered. So here is the first of the competition entries.

    1. Thank you. The land to the left is also not linked directly to the land that you see in the right hand window. The land in the second window is much further away. Glad you like it and hope you may return 😃
